The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a sacred and life-changing journey that takes place at high altitude and in remote terrain. Proper physical preparation, mental readiness, and health awareness are essential to complete the yatra safely and comfortably.

Physical Fitness Preparation
Although the yatra does not require professional trekking experience, basic physical fitness is very important.
Recommended Preparation (4–6 Weeks Before Yatra)
- Daily walking (4–6 km)
- Light jogging or cycling
- Stair climbing practice
- Breathing exercises (Pranayama)
- Stretching and flexibility exercises
Strong legs, good stamina, and controlled breathing make the parikrama easier.
High-Altitude Awareness
Mount Kailash and Mansarovar are located at very high altitude where oxygen levels are low.
Common High-Altitude Symptoms
- Headache

Prevention Tips
- Walk slowly and steadily
